New Just heard on news -- Michael Brown being removed
I don't have any more information, other than my local news just said that Michael Brown is being removed from the position of the head of FEMA.

New Weird
Sounds like the same story, but isn't the same thing the local news said. They said "removed from the position" not "going to Washington to oversee things"

But they did say he was being called to Washington to meet with the President.

Maybe early Journalist confusion? It happens.

New He may have had a dodgy resume', too.
[link|http://www.edmondsun.com/articles/2005/09/09/front/front.txt|Edmund Sun]:

Questions about FEMA director Michael D. Brown's resum\ufffd continue to swirl today as an Edmond city official calls into question some of the details listed in a Time magazine report posted last night on its online edition. Other former Edmond officials said this morning they remember his work did include some emergency management.

It'll be, um, ironic, if an embellished resume' brings him down (rather than being in far over his head in running FEMA).

Cheers,
Scott.
New Meanwhile Gov Blanco has called in the pros

Gov. Kathleen Blanco has appointed former FEMA Director James Lee Witt as a special adviser to help her manage the recovery and restoration efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Witt was FEMA director under former President Clinton, serving in that position from 1993-2001.

Guess they decided to get someone with qualifications.

New That's what good managers do
They hire the best people they can get for the job.

Then there are the shitty managers who hire their clueless friends (I'm having a dot com flashback as I write this).
