(2) irresistably apropos; the insouciance of "ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies" and the ironfisted authority of a language that was practically invented for imperatives. (The usual tagline, incidentally, is merely a wry allusion, briefly recounted here years ago, to my undergraduate hubris in reading the Tractatus at a single sitting and not merely, as Ashton might say, grokking its fullness, but deriving insights that had eluded generations of exegesists before me—entirely the consequence of tackling the tome with my pattern recognition circuitry chemically overclocked.)
