Originally I couldn't get it to work and LSI had me reflash the BIOS with a later version. That removed some problems but was no cure. LSI said megaraid had problems with certain VIA chipsets so I went to a motherboard with the previous VIA chipset (no SATA) and it worked fine. [link\|http://www.aaxnet.com\|AAx]

I went to HP's website and grabbed the latest version of the firmware for the card in the server - the card in question is an HP NetRAID-3si. I got to the part where it runs the partitioner, and it (of course) gave the no devices detected message. I checked network, and I do have network, as well as a functioning version of wget, so I can grab files off the 'net without too much issue. I am now going to ask what to me seems like it should be an obvious question, but I can't find an answer anywhere. How do I install the megaraid driver at this point? Is it even possible? apt-get install godlike-powers

With the VIA KT400 (vs. KT600) motherboard the Sarge install recgnized the controller and installed just fine. There are some custom boot CDs out on the Internet to fix RAID install problems but I think they're mostly for Woody. [link\|http://www.aaxnet.com\|AAx]

Post #220,935 by Andrew Grygus 8/25/05 2:32:23 PM Reply	Problem is . . . . . since (presuming your install is up-to-date) the installer didn't recognize the controller, I'm not sure you could make a boot image that worked because the megaraid driver is already included. Unless, of coourse, you found a driver specific to the HP controller. [link\|http://www.aaxnet.com\|AAx]
