New I have/had the same problem
Downgraded to 6.0.1, and problem seems to have gone away.

I'll wait for 8, or until they fix the problem (as evidenced by positive reviews here, or in other reputable sources, like El Reg).

New when in doubt
go back to the old version.

Thanks for the tip. That's exactly what I ended up doing. I went back to 6.0.1 and the problem went away. Guess there is a compatibility problem with XP and the 7.0.2.

/me is just happy to be able to open files and print them now.

Working on FAFSA stuff for the manchild entering college this month.
(shielding meself from hurled objects) I know, I know...shoulda done all that sooner...but, walk a mile in me shoes. Hey...gimme back me shoes!!!

Peace,
Amy

New It's more than just 7.0.2...7.0 also couldn't hack it
However, 7.0 seems to work OK at home, where I have Win2K. Go figure.

Hey, you don't think Micros~1 fiddled the stack in XP, now do you? You know, to maybe break some "other manufacturer"'s apps? They wouldn't do that, now would they? Hmmmm?!?
