It will be a 2.6.latest-in-debian kernel, but on Sarge, more than likely a kernel taken from a project that has recompiled most of Debian for X86 and AMD64_86 with PAX and other stack smashing protection. The project is done by Steve Kemp of Debian.
That means, MOST buffer-overrun, buffer overflow, invalid stack heap, etc.. etc... problems in the standard Kernel, will not be a problem with this one.
I'll prolly, stabilize the machine first, before doing the other Kernel. I already have a machine very similar, running with uptimes in the 170 day area, and still counting.
SO, I hope I'll have similar luck.
