New Re: Ping-pong development
Bah. That starts with a silly misreading of "ping pong" and then goes downhill.

In XP, "Ping Pong" is simply "I'll write the test case, then you write the code to make it pass. Then you write the next test case and pass the keyboard back for me to write code to make it pass." It's a way to keep a pair fully engaged, particularly when working through some of the more boring parts of development. Well, in that case it helps keep whoever has the keyboard from going crazy at the prospect of, say, driving across Nebraska on I-80 without a working radio.

New Yeah, but, it was timely for me
Part of my company has a Windows guy in charge.

Most of the people who work for him have constructed some rather
large, profitable systems. In Perl / Oracle / Unix.

So of course, their future is .Net / VB or C# / SQL/Server / Windows.

With a few very expensive long term consultants doing most of the work.

I forwarded the Ping-Pong link to his boss, with the comment: Only the
consultants win.

Well as long as I don't breathe, there's always a chance that I won't need oxygen.
