New Single home directory, multiple machines?
If I mount /home from a central file repository in fstab, then use LDAP for local login authentication on several machines, all running Ubuntu, and all running the same software, this shouldn't cause any issues, correct?
apt-get install godlike-powers
New It is how MOST...
UNIX Shops run.

The only thing you have to be sure about, if someone has multiple machines in the same room and uses certain Apps, some apps will report the default profile/setting/tempsomething is being used by another machine "{machine addr or name}" please use a different profile.

I have done this for years at home and work. I have Windows users using the *NIX homedir as their SAMBA homedir. Works fine by me.

New Figured as much.
Just wanted a sanity check before proceeding.
apt-get install godlike-powers
New We did it with NIS where I used to work.
Worked flawlessly. We were doing intranet development with local web-servers and databases; but all the files were NFS mounted.
