New What a surprising headline.
Company favors acceptance of proposal accepted by U.S. Department of Justice

DUUUUUUH! Of course they like this settlement. From our old friends at [link|http://www.infoworld.com/articles/ms/xml/01/12/12/011212msforce.xml|Infoworld].

New Seems the LBO of the Bush Admin is complete.
New LBO ?
New Leveraged buyout
A popular business term as regards taking over companies, used esp. in the mid-to-late 80's.

New As always, the Register is pithy
One does kind of wonder what use Microsoft's source code, software blueprints and APIs would be anyway, given that what appears to happen is that the coders shove stuff in, then forget precisely where they put it, so can't figure out how to get it back out without breaking stuff. But we knew that about Microsoft development already.

There's plenty more in their [link|http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/23380.html|article].

New Re: What a surprising headline.
Hmm... I thought the new proposal was primarily targetted at setting provisions that would only come into play if Microsoft failed to comply with the other actions. If that's true, Microsoft would only have to be concerned if they planned on disobeying or pushing the edge of the rulings. <sarcasm>They wouldn't plan on doing that would they?</sarcasm>

On a side note, when did Palm become one of the "mean bullies trying to destroy american innovation"?
