Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Andrew, do you ACCPAC?
We've recently acquired ACCPAC Small Business Edition Pro Series 7.3. The back-end is MS Sql Server 2000 w/a Foxpro front-end. It looks as though there is still some configuration information that is stored in Xbase, but I can't tell for sure. At any rate, for disaster recovery, our vendor suggested detach/attach to another machine offsite. That seems to work well enough, but I'm wondering why I can't either

A) Use MS Sql Replication Services or
B) Take back-up dumps off-site and restore

I'm told that option B will not work and option A is not supported. Somewhere in the back of my head I had the thought that you resold/config'd/support this product. If you do, what gives with the mish-mash of Xbase and Sql Server?

TIA.
bcnu,
Mikem

It would seem, therefore, that the three human impulses embodied in religion are fear, conceit, and hatred. The purpose of religion, one might say, is to give an air of respectibility to these passions. -- Bertrand Russell
New Actually, no.
I did some support for a couple clients using it years ago, but they were very small businesses using an older small business version that backed up data only to tape.

ACCPAC always seemed over-complicated and messy to me so I avoided it, but from your description I guess it's a lot more so today.

I'm sure when this came out, it was better than whatever else was out. Want to play chess with me, son? No way, Dad.
