Or a bad update - not sure.
Had a power bounce during a storm.
My primary box is a Mepis Debian.
I did a apt-get upgrade a week or so, but did not reboot.
On booting,it is unable to see the network.
It assigned my hardwired 192.168.1.222 address, but is unable to ping the gateway
It also refused to load the nvidia driver - something about using the wrong api - not sure, bouncing the box (yet again).
I don't mind single monitor for now, but the network is missing is a killer.
I did an /etc/init.d/networking stop, start, etc, no difference.
Yes, I swapped cables, the switch port and cable are good.
What next, pop in a new network card? What do I need to do under debian to recognise it (if anything)?
Or is there a network reconfigure I need to do since this is the first vounce after the update (idiot me).
