My ISP on: W32.Mytob@mm, W32.MyDoom
All PC-Users:
Monday May 31, A new strain of W32.Mytob@mm and W32.MyDoom was released on Friday. It is disguised in a mail message that appears to be from [ISP] UPDATE your virus software before picking your mail.
ISP also reminds that they never send an attachment that hasn't been prearranged. D'Oh. I'm betting that most customers won't go to site and see this. I rarely do, and I'm cuther than most.
These appear to be the expected sucker-bait titles:
# *DETECTED* Online User Violation
# Your Email Account is Suspended For Security Reasons
# Account Alert
# Important Notification
# *WARNING* Your Email Account Will Be Closed
# Security measures
# Email Account Suspension
# Notice of account limitation
Time to upgrade Spybot, Stinger; burn another Billy/Bally-2-headed-doll.

Um, pardon me, but...
Your Email Account is Suspended For Security Reasons If you get this IN YOUR EMAIL, wouldn't that be somewhat of a giveaway? If you push something hard enough, it will fall over. Fudd's First Law of Opposition

I can think of several instances where this would be valid.
Outbound might be blocked.
Further inbound might be blocked for whatever reason, one last message in the queue.
That took me 10 seconds.
Aleph-null bottles of beer on the wall, aleph-null bottles of beer.

Hmmm - mine's (been) v1.3
and there's usually an update first few days, every month (just got latest).
The update drill is pretty transparent; did yours just return stuff like add-ons, but no new dbase? or nothing at all?
Guess I'll check out 1.4, too.
