I bought this thing late 1997, and only had the battery replaced once since. It ran great, even better than the Casino Databank watch I used to have before it died in 1997.
Timex used to have a web site for it at [link|http://www.timex.com/html/data_link_software.html|[link|http://www.timex.com/html/data_link_software.html|http://www.timex.co...oftware.html]] that supported every Windows OS except Windows NT, but I cannot find the new page. I keep getting that the page doesn't exist, and that timex.com is not responding. Did Timex pull their website? Microsoft seems to shift support to Timex for software updates. I have the original watch, I don't think it has a model number.
It works by reading bar-codes on the monitor via its built in lens while in "Communication" mode to download data. The data can be phone numbers, appointments, birthdays, etc. It has become a second memory to me, and fits on my wrist and is waterproof. I don't have to worry about it when it rains, and I never forget it. It integrates with Outlook real good, and can use its own stand-alone PIM.
If it doesn't work with Windows 2000, I may consider getting something else when I can afford it. I may have to get that "notebook adapter" if the video modes of Windows 2000 doesn't synch up with it anymore.
I also thought, is there Linux support for this watch? Anyone know?
