New I've got previous personal versions of ...
Delphi and Builder.

They seem line fine tools for my very limited use.

Note the restrictions in the license though - e.g. it used to be you couldn't use them at work and be in compliance with the license.

"C++BuilderX contains a commercial license for personal use." - is about all I can find on Borland's [link|http://www.borland.com/cbuilderx/personal/index.html|web page] about restrictions on its use, so maybe they're a little less restrictive than they were with C++ Builder 6.

New The IDE UI *may* be slow and/or clunky, I don't know.
But ISTR hearing/reading somewhere that the "X" IDE line's UIs are built in Java... and UIs built in Java *do*, IME, tend to be one or both.
