it seems some people in marketing wanted a big new monitor so they could do layouts and such more easily. So they bought a 23" cinema display. Unfortunately, they don't have any machines that can drive it. sad, sad. It sat in its box for 2 weeks or so. One of my co-workers got tired of seeing it sitting there. He verified that his system could drive it and attempted to swap out his 19" flat panel. Unfortunately, his Dell system doesn't have a DVI connector. darn drat. So our boss picked it up and plunked it down on his desk next to his 14" PB G4 and plugged in the DVI. no joy. power on? yep. hhmmmm settings? nothing. ??? nothing. ??? until some bright light (who? me?) plugged in the display's USB and Firewire connectors as well. and then, oooohh wowsers. Much rejoicing and many chins on the floor.
I thought my 20" iMac G5 display was great. feh. Looks like sand compared to the cinema display.
