He quickly won a dispensation on account of his training at a seminary. \ufffdRatzinger was only briefly a member of the Hitler Youth and not an enthusiastic one,\ufffd concluded John Allen, his biographer.

I don't much like his selection but let's be fair. A concept, I'll admit, that appears to be lacking in much of Catholic doctrine.
