"Dark Day"

4/5/95

by Norman King

I had a dark day, it rained and there were coulds everywhere.
It was raining heavly and it was very cold outside.
I was trying to think positive, yet things kept going wrong.
Things went from bad to worse, I just couldn't belive it.

I was taking a walk, a car splashed a puddle on me.
Fancy that, mud all over my clothes, I'm a mess!
The walk was supposed to help me think and relax.
Now I am a bundle of nerves, very tense and muddy.

Here I was hoping it would clear up, or so I was told.
Yet another lie, this one told by the weatherpeople on TV.
My umbrella wouldn't open, and when it did the wind blew it away.
Now I am cold, wet, muddy, and shivering, not my idea of fun!

What a Dark Day this has turned out to be.
Another car goes by, someone yells something.
They drive off laughing, but I couldn't hear what they said.
There is no sun in the sky, just black clouds, it's a Dark Day!
