Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Yeap, built-in.
I just setup a PDF printer in CUPS. (a printer setup to convret things to PDF)

I also have a PCL job I get, that is 4GB. I convert it to PS level 3, on the fly. It is PCL5 from and AS400.

New This generates PDF
but if I already have a PCL formatted file, what do I do to supply it to the driver?
is "lp -d pdf_printer" enough?
Does the system automagically convert to PCL?
New So far - so bad
I've apt-get install cups-pdf - seemed to work.
I've created a printer as per the web site.
I've tried to test it via:

broom@592[~]$ lp -d cups-pdf /etc/termcap
request id is cups-pdf-12 (1 file(s))
broom@592[~]$

It produces files, names the same, off the user's
home directory/cups-pdf. The root color postscript
test worked fine, as did a straight text output.

But then I send PCL formatted stuff, it is very
unhappy. How do I tell it that it is dealing
with PCL?
New What is the timeframe?
Mainly I have all of the docs in paper form (handwritten notes) at work.

New Next week is fine
I'm in prototype weekend project mode.
Will havie somehting on Monday to prove this is doable in straight PCL, but PDF would be MUCH better.
