All you can really do is point out the risks to them. If they accept it, even if you don't like it, then make sure they know they are accepting the risks completely and against your recommendations. Then when something goes pear-shaped, you can point to the document and say "you accepted the risks".

With this setup, anyone can forge an invoice anywhere. That can be bad for your reputation.
