Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I need flickr running on my own servers
I like the tagging/metadata features of flickr, but we have way too many photos to try uploading them all to flickr's servers. Is there an equivalent which I can buy from someone (or is FOSS) that I can run on my own servers here?
New linky please or example?

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]
New i think this is it

Steve
New Yeah, that's it.
New It looks like a Flash Photo Display
Which really sucks.

Couldn't you use something like [link|http://marginalhacks.com/Hacks/album/|album], [link|http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/|Coppermine] or [link|http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=index|gallery]?

I mean, it ain't *THAT* hard, is it? Or are you looking for the indexing and meta-tagging (which can be done with 'em)

Just wait, there is a great thing: [link|http://www.coppergallery.org/|Gallery and Coppermine Merge]

New Meta-tagging is the issue
I've written my own image album programs, before. I'm _not_ really looking for a tool for people to share photos with their kids who won't look at them anyway. I need a tagging system for our staff to sift through the thousands of photos we accumulate each year, to find ones appropriate for different advertising projects.
New Then use...
coppermine as a publishing and meta-tagger. It appears to support this.

Bad thing, MySQL vs PgSQL.

CPG is so fully featured it's not enough to fully list them here. Feel free to have a go with the demo - change the themes, add some comments, see it in Hungarian!

I hope you noticed these. It'll take some work, but the batching can be done too. And, you can integrate it with your BLOG with some customization though, using things like WeeCodestm (and give back hopefully!)
