I wish it would wind down NOW
That or move to another forum. Please.
Thanks, Ben

Why?
It's news. We're talking about it.

It's only news
in the same sense that "Gay Marriages" were news. Brought up to obscure other events. What are we be distracted from today?

Iraq, the economy, declining standards of public health...
...yadda yadda.
It's in the news. Or shall we only talk about Worthy Subjects?

Lead story, Front page articles
Should be "the important stuff". Terry was bumped to number 2 story on Monday when HS shooting occurred. Economy? Iraq? Public school funding? Depressing information, give it 5-10 seconds air time just before "feel good' commercial.

It isn't news any more
It long ago should have been moved to politics.
I prefer it when this forum is filled with new news or reasonably brief discussions about the same.
Please make it so again.
Thanks, Ben

How about Health?
The only reason it would fit in politics is because of the idiocy of Bush and the Congress, which is an aside to what has largely been discussed in the thread.
That said, as the major antagonist in that thread, I hope its over. ;0)

Move it to health if you want
I wouldn't know what the main thread is, because I've not been reading it. I've only been annoyed that it continues here.
Regards, Ben

It's my fault.
When I started the "train wreck" thing I thought it was News more than Politics. I continued adding to that thread to keep the conversation together so that it would be easier to search in the future. It's clear that it should have been moved to Politics long ago.
Sorry.
Cheers, Scott.

Tell that to every news network
because I dont think they got the memo.
The story is going to continue to escalate until she dies or that feeding tube is put back in. Give it a couple weeks after that and no one will be talking about poor old Terri. We'll all have moved on, like vultures, to the next tragedy du jour.

Doesn't matter.. Jon Carroll has the best word I've seen -
[link|http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/03/23/DDG27BCCGI1.DTL| here]. Per usual, succinct al punte and this time, a tad bitter (he concludes). I do not in this column want to talk about the right to die. I do understand that it's a complicated issue, and many advocates for the rights of the disabled have serious reservations about it. I do understand that a persistent vegetative state is different from a coma. That's all interesting, but it's beside the point.
I want to talk about political grandstanding. I know that accusing a politician of grandstanding is like accusing a shark of eating. There are, nevertheless, limits of human decency. The president and any number of GOP members of Congress have not just crossed those limits, they have stomped on them, burned them, obliterated them. Do we have no safe harbor from the pandering ideologues? Apparently not. Oh well, it's Murica and no one could possibly set the bar low enough that an opportunistic Fundie can't squirm under it with ease. All the boilerplate is already indexed for any next opportunity to tickle the basest-Base. Meanwhile.. all we can do is take anti-nausea pills and try to tune out the next rounds of egregious pandering and theology DeLay-style. Watch for new definitions of words. Daily.
