New Intel ICH6R driver for linux?
I just got a new Dell box. Dell doesn't offer a Red Hat 8.0 driver for the damned hard drive controller that came in this box (Dell Precision 370 SATA/ Intel ICH6R). So, RH8 can't see the hard drive. I've googled some this morning to no avail. I'm still looking but thought I'd post here just in case anyone's done this. From what I've found so far, looks like I'm fairly hosed. Any ideas appreciated.

Aside: Yes, I *have* to run Red Hat 8.0 for political reasons.

New Then you'll have to get a different box.
AFAIK, RH8 will never support that chipset for the drive controller.

I've had my fill of making drivers for the Anaconda installer. It ain't pretty AND it really is a kludge. What you'll have to do is somehow find the driver build instructions I used to have years ago. I found them on a person's website @ Redhat. I dunno iffn you'll be able to discover the Voodoo needed.
