My dad had been talking about getting her a new laptop and had been looking at Dells. Mom was all "I don't need a new laptop, mine is fine. I don't care if the letters are worn off the keyboard, I can type without them."

Mom's currently visiting and is traveling w/out her laptop because she's bringing a bunch of stuff back with her. I set her up with her own account on my iMac. She's very impressed with OS X(I haven't had time yet to show her stuff like iPhoto) and wants to get an Apple laptop now. I'll be taking her to the Apple Store this weekend so she can see one in person.

Update: Mom came by my work for lunch and informed me that we were going to be buying one this weekend :-)

They only have bluetooth USB dongles at the stores, so we placed an order. I think that's a mistake on Apple's part.

She's got a 14" iBook w/bluetooth and 80GB drive upgrade. We'll get some extra memory elsewhere(Apple wants $75 for an extra 256, OWC wants $70 for 512).

They're having a "free printer" deal. Mom doesn't need one but my brother does, so he's going to benefit out of that deal.
