Orrin Hatch, a Republican from Utah, has sent eight pages of questions to the department's antitrust chief, Charles James, "that I believe are critical to analyzing and understanding the (settlement)". Being a senior member of the Judiciary Committee helps as well. Among other things, Hatch's letter asks James how the settlement will, "terminate the monopoly Microsoft was found by the appellate court to have unlawfully maintained" and "deny to Microsoft the fruits of its (antitrust) violations." If Borin' Orrin can, through the sheer force of his Conservative credentials, stop the so-called settlement, then who cares where he's from? jb4 (Resistance is not futile...)
