Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Reboot, on account of:
Different kernel on disk as aopposed to kernel in memory.

No inserty kernel modules on disk... :)

Reload of kernel required, using stock Debian Kernels which are not fastboot compiled. (Boot a new kernel from the kernel in memory)

Second reboot, was on account of lockup... changing some core things out for newer "better" things. (hotplug, dbus, hal vs usb-perms and a coupla other things "old style" things)

Third reboot required. People stay-away from Debian Stock kernel 2.4.27-2-k7 v2.4.27-8 (can't vouch for other versions). v2.4.27-7 was the first revision to bump the kernel from 2.4.27-1-k7. So keep away from revisions 2.4.27-7 and 2.4.27-8. v2.4.27-6 and below worked very well.

2.4.27-2-k7 v2.4.27-8 caused corruption on on of the "important" filesystems. GRRR. I fsck'd the filesystems, lost a ton O stuff on /home.

Restored it. Much better.

Needless to say everything is back to normal... and I am off to file a bugreport.

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]
