Interesting theory. EFF did a [link\|http://www.eff.org/broadcastflag/eyetv500.php\|review] of an HDTV tuner for the Mac. I tried the HD video clip of TFOTR they put up for demo on my 1.8 GHz G5 and playback was extremely choppy. Apple's [link\|http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/quicktime.html\|next release of QuickTime](due with OS X 10.4) is supposed to handle HD content, but it doesn't mention CPU requirements. So if a 1.25 GHz G5 has enough grunt to decode a 720p-24 stream, then so does a Mac Mini. Only issue I see with this is a lot of sets will not accept a 720p signal. They expect the signal provider to reformat 720p to 1080i or 480p.
