We had managed to get the case off, Chris, (my friend), found a tab to press and it worked, but I'm keeping the manual for future reference.

Seems the disk drive decided to just stop working, so my first suggestion was to clean it.... talk about dust...

Anyway the Performa wouldn't make either of my VGA monitors wake up even with the adapter, so we suspect that it needs a color profile or something like that for the apple for it to talk to the monitor. My Leading Edge monitor had brightness but no picture.

So she's taking it home to test with her mom's apple monitor and see if we fixed the disk drive... meanwhile the search for a monitor or way to make one of mine work, continues.
