New Free tunes from iTunes

Apple is offering a sample set of 13 songs from the iTunes Music Store.

Apparently they're for new iPod owners, but you can get to them if you do a restore on your current iPod.
- Make sure you back up your files, of course
- You still need to have an ITMS account (the page you're directed to allows you to create one before grabbing the free tunes.)

I haven't listened to them yet and they appear to be a mixed bag (no big names, but more along the lines of those albums of "up and coming artists" that the record companies used to put out).

Anyway, free (as in beer) can also be good.

New Got link?
I just set it up a couple days ago but wasn't prompted with anything.

New Re: Got link?
Couldn't get a link, but I did a restore from the updater on my iPod this morning
and when it began to sync up with iTunes, I was taken to the iTMS and given the offer.

I just heard about it yesterday so you may want to give it another try.

New Works, thanx!
I know I like one of the songs - been listening to Scissor Sisters for a few months now.

I was planning to see them in concert in December, but that's when we got hit with the network migration from the buyout. The concert was 9pm on a work night and I wasn't up to going after 12 hour days, including weekends :-(

New Interesting
Just checked out iTunes top 100 albums for 2004, Scissor Sisters is on the 2nd page.

New Speaking of Scissor Sisters
[link|http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A53256-2005Jan6.html|Washington Post]:

SCISSOR SISTERS SINGERS Jake Shears and Ana Matronic are an odd, outlandish couple, somewhere between Elton John/Kiki Dee pop duo and W.C. Fields/Mae West burlesque team, dressed by Bob Mackie on acid, underscored by a giddy swirl of '70s and '80s pop pastiches.

Hmmm... :-)

Cheers,
Scott.
New That would be them
If you're using iTunes you can see 2 of their videos in the Music Store:

I discovered the group when I heard Take Your Mamma while shopping at CompUSA a few months ago. I realized the music was from the video wall, so hung around until the end of the video in hopes it would list title & artist. It did :-)
