Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Added a harddrive recently to a Win XP machine
Lo and behold - it gives me an option to mount it under an empty directory of C: drive! Took Microsoft only 15 years and 5 versions (?) to implement this advanced functionality.

Q. I think I need to see a specialist, but my doctor insists he can handle my problem. Can a general practitioner really perform a heart transplant right in his/her office?
A. Hard to say, but considering that all you're risking is the $20 co-payment, there's no harm in giving it a shot.

New Junction points have been in NTFS since W2K
Took you 5 years to notice :-)

Use P2P for legitimate purposes!
New Yeah, but half the functionality still don't work right...
Most apps still check "global" disk space left, not local directory space left.

New That's hardly the fault of NTFS :)

New Yep. It's a systemic problem.
Time to stop using Win32, eh?

New Already on it.
I've been slowly migrating Susan to OSS, next step will be to remove the table cloth, leaving all the dishes on the table.

New Well, I never had to add a drive to a 2000 machine
And even now, this thing is slightly broken... I found that the folder icon of this "junction point" is a harddrive. And there is no way to change it, although normal folders can have different icons.
