Welcome to IWETHEY!

New An exciting development!
If we're interested, I've secured proper hosting for the mailing list within the UK.

(email snippet follows)

>> It's the mailing list for \n>> [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/board/show?boardid=1|http://z.iwethey.org...rd/show?boardid=1]\n>>\n>> Primarily used when the web site goes down.\n>>\n>> We'd previously been hosted on the University of Virginia Linux User \n>> Group's server, but that's gone AWOL.\n>>\n>> So it's definitely non-profit (just a group of people who've known \n>> each other for years) but the "interesting" part might be problematic :-)\n> \n> \n> I'd run that for you. If you're interested, drop me an email specifying \n> the name of the list you'd like, and whether you'd like it \n> ...@warhead.org.uk or if you'd like to run it via another domain (which \n> is possible, but requires your mail server to host aliases for a few \n> addresses to forward mail on). Then I'll make it and send you login \n> details and be on hand to lend a hand configuring it?\n> \n>>\n>> P.\n> \n> \n> ABS

New Advantages? Disadvantages?
Other than freeing up some of your time and your machine, of course. :-)

Cheers,
Scott.
New Re: Advantages? Disadvantages?
+++ It'd be on a properly hosted machine, not a PC in my study
--- It'd be on someone else's properly hosted machine
+++ Someone else would back it up
--- Someone else would back it up
+++ No worries about being able to send mail (warhead.org.uk is a Proper domain)
+++ warhead.org is (a) gooey: [link|http://www.warhead.org.uk/manifesto.html|http://www.warhead.org.uk/manifesto.html]
+++ and (b) sensible: [link|http://www.warhead.co.uk/|http://www.warhead.co.uk/]

New Re: An exciting development!
I think the fair thing to do would be to allow 24 hours for people to register their opinion.

In the meantime, please do subscribe to the list on my server; I will transfer the list membership en masse if we choose to take Alaric up on his very kind offer.
