What you need is a good shortsword or wakizashi - something with a long enough blade to make that piddly little bowie knife have performance anxiety, but not so long that it gets caught on walls or doorways. It's right next to the 2-ft. section of electrical cable (I forget the gauge... it's whatever they use to connect the circuit box, and it's about an inch thick).
