New Outlook & PDA
Having problem syncing. Can anyone help?
Buddy
New Okay tell us the following
Which OS on the PDA, which OS on the computer, method of connection, which software are you trying to sync and what exact error messages are you seeing, cut and paste of exact messages would assist.

New Re: Okay tell us the following
Computer System - XP
PDA - iPaq - 3835 - Purchased in 12-01
Active Sync - USB
It will not sync with Outlook, after having done so for approximatley 2.5 years. IT guy detects no viruses or hardware defects. Desktop is newer Dell. No error messages. Initially when PDA is cradled recognition of sync starts then disappears. When accessing Outlook it starts and after 15 seconds disappears.

New Next questions:
Did anything change? UserID? App. Software installed? Servicepack downloaded/installed? Antivirus? Firewall?

Anything change on the iPaq?

New Try to clean the contacts on the iPaq and cable.
Also check for things like spyware or viruses.

My quick - off the top of my head - suggestions. The only time I've had trouble syncing my Sony Clie' is when there's some dust on the docking station contacts.

This guy's ahead of his time! He's using quantum programming methods: in universes where invalid data is passed to this function, it does not return. Thus you are ensured that you will only have valid data after calling it. Optimally you'd destroy the universe on failure, but computers haven't quite advanced to that level yet.

New Does it work on a different computer?
If it does then the problem is your computer, probably needs to be reformatted, etc.

New Could Outlook have updated itself?
My fiance has a PDA that won't sync with Outlook - the problem in her case is that the version she has installed isn't the version the sync software is insisting it work with, but I don't think it's a simple "version" problem as MS makes a number of variations of Outlook as well as multiple versions. If it updated itself, this could change it enough that the sync software doesn't like it anymore.

New What versions of software?
Specifically, Outlook & ActiveSync.
