Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Extended apology.
I'm not the greatest apologiser in the world. Often, I just stick my head in the sand and wait for the furore to die down. Needless to say, this doesn't do much to help. This time, I cannot do so.

I'm posting this because I feel really bad about the lollercaust thing. On reflection, it ranks as one of the more stupid things I've done online, and the more I think about it, the more I realise just how staggeringly offensive it is.

To those whom I've hurt: I'm sorry. I know that you can't take things back or unread them or unsee them, but for what it's worth, I apologise wholeheartedly.

To Arkadiy in particular: I cannot begin to imagine how this has hurt you. Perhaps you'll forgive me this, one day.

I have no excuses. I fucked up. I'm sorry.

New Re: Extended apology.
It's always good to apologize, Peter, whenever you've inadvertently hurt someone.

I recently did the same sort of thing with a good friend, by accidentally making a joke about something serious to them.... because they seemed over the issue.

I was wrong.

Give it time, I'm sure they will accept your apology in time. I already have.

Brenda

P.S. This is why I use the rule "Think before you post." everywhere on line. Hmmm maybe it's time to change my signature.

New It is OK.
Don't worry about it. If you know yourself better now, whatever pain I felt does not count. Be at ease.

This guy's ahead of his time! He's using quantum programming methods: in universes where invalid data is passed to this function, it does not return. Thus you are ensured that you will only have valid data after calling it. Optimally you'd destroy the universe on failure, but computers haven't quite advanced to that level yet.
