Post #185,855 by folkert 12/2/04 4:42:04 PM Reply	I have an XP3200 I can say this: compared it to a P4 3.2GHz with nearly same specs on the motherboard, but exactly the same Video card and such. Peter, go blow it out yur arse. the P4 isn't half the Processor the (early) PIII (with 512KB of cache) was. Sure it is faster, but the geewhiz factor is completely lost, the AthlonXP 3200 and the P4 3.2GHz are nearly equal in performance. Now then A64 and other Opteron and such processors are nice. Post #185,850 by lister 12/2/04 3:24:52 PM Reply	I've got an Athlon 2500 Depends on what you'll be using the system for. The two heaviest things I've thrown at it were GTA3:VC and video crunching. It handles GTA3:VC just fine. The video crunching lacks compared to faster systems (of course) but it's way, way faster than my current main system 2x533MHz Celerons. If you're not going for absolute performance, pocket the extra bucks or buy more gadgets and take the Athlon. I've been impatiently waiting for cheapish dually Athlon 64s and of course 64bit Windows... lister
