New What apps?
I've seen VPC run just about everything with acceptable speeds.

New Dunno
Any of the MS suite that I won't have a native app for.
PrintNetT print production layout software.
MS Visual Studio for C# development.
Whatever random stuff is thrown at me.
If I need to run a Win app, I can't say, sorry, I'm a Mac person, I can't.
I have to make it work.
On the other hand, in a worst case scenario, I have access to a Citrix box that I can request installs on.

As far as acceptable, what was your CPU and what is your example of an app that could use a bit more speed?
New Virtual PC on G4 iMac
Desklamp model.

Also seen performance on a Pismo laptop and a later model

MS Suite and any other office apps will not be a problem. In fact, on a new edition machine, you'll likely see no difference at all in performance from the VPC to an actual PC.

I suggest you rev back your windows version. Win2k should be good. Easier to shut off all the eye candy crap in the OS.

Where VPC falls down is in video subsystem stuff...so anything with high-end graphic needs will not be a pleasant experience (ie...games).
