New New board?
How would everyone feel about hosting a bunch of physics types on a separate board? We're using a blog as a discussion forum and it basically sucks. It would be temporary until everyone realized how much this boardware rocks, and then would get a parallel install on another site if agreeable to the owner(s) of the software.

Note, this is my idea, haven't run it by the blogger yet. The idea is, he'd link it on his blog. It may receive no hits, or hundreds. The blog is not too busy, two or three topics per week, each gets about 30 responses. The real danger is that usenet cranks would find their way over and spam it out of utility - this would be immediately stopped by withdrawing the board. Naturally, I'd do the admin work on the board itself.

The discussions are fun and above the level of sci.physics.* usenet bilge. There are surprisingly few neutral places to talk about physics on the net.

New Classical physics?
I'm not into that post-Modern physics stuff. Give me Newtonian physics and I might hop on board. (Still think there's work to be done in application of areas like fluid dynamics, but then I are an engineer not a scientist).
New Any and all
Whatever makes sense. You can start your own thread or participate in another, or just kibbitz. What you couldn't do would be to post a 20 page description of a perpetual motion machine :) There's tons on that on usenet and it makes it impossible to have a forum.

New I don't have any issues...
Except those Stream theory people.

BAHAHA... just kidding.

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]

New Easy enough to do.
But there's no admin interface, so you'd be stuck with me doing that bit.
