China helped Pakistan develop its nukes figuring (what a bunch of smarties) it would help deflect a resurgent India. China's probably having second thoughts right now and if they had the opportunity to promise Pakistan to keep Pak's nukes for it, they'd jump at the chance. And it would be cold day in hell before Pak ever got'em back (in my opinion).
