Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I was in a car crash yesterday
Sorry for making this post, I know I tried to stay away. I had an Uncle die recently and now a car accident happened to me, and I am lucky to be alive and not seriously hurt.

My first car accident where I was the driver.

My car is wrecked. Some car doing 60MPH in a 40MPH zone got
into my lane and hit me going the other way. I was turning from Teson
to Mo Bottom, and I thought I had enough room, but I was hit so hard
that it turned my car around 180 degrees and into a ditch, almost
flipping it over or rolling it. I still suffer from sinus and ear
infections, so I was a bit disoriented at the momment it all happened.
No charges were filed, and all parties went to a hospital. My glasses
were destroyed and scratched up, and it almost hurt my eyes. I bumped
my head on the driver door and window, took a few airbag bruses, hit
my leg and shin, misaligned my back, and brought about a panic attack
and anxiety.

We are trying to collect info, on the lane I was on, there was skid
marks before it hit my car. The firetruck, drove over the skidmarks,
and the police did not see them. Our insurance company or my brother
or father will try to take a picture of the skid marks before they go
away.

No I didn't get their insurance or names, the main thing with the
police was to get us to the hospital ASAP. The fire department had to
put the fire out in our cars. I asked for exchanging inurance, but the
other guy seemed not to care. I was dizzy, felt like I was going to
pass out. I got out of the car as the hood was smoking. My left temple hurt, it hit the door. The airbag jammed my left thumb, and I gut a cut on my left
index finger, my right shin, and bruses all over my body.

After this incident, my fear of driving came back.

No serious injuries, at least that they can detect. That's my Guardian
Angel working overtime there. :)

I was standing, then I got lightheaded and dizzy due to my head
injury, and I knelled down and then fell over. I almost passed out.

No charges were filed to either driver.

New the police report will note the other drivers name and
address, let your insurance folks handle details.
thanx,
bill
These miserable swine, having nothing but illusions to live on, marshmallows for the soul in place of good meat, will now stoop to any disgusting level to prevent even those miserable morsels from vanishing into thin air. The country is being destroyed by these stupid, vicious right-wing fanatics, the spiritual brothers of the brownshirts and redstars, collectivists and authoritarians all, who would not know freedom if it bit them on the ass, who spend all their time trying to stamp, bludgeon, and eviscerate the very idea of the individual's right to his own private world. New Thanks Box
I got the police report number, I'll give them a call and sort these things out.

Thanks again.

New I'm assuming the air bag helped keep injuries down
Even if it did cause some problems with your hands. Were you wearing a seat belt?

I gather it was a pretty violent collision - head on. Glad to hear that you didn't come out much worse. Still, you need to take it easy, as it's like being in a boxing match with Mike Tyson. The insurance situation will hopefully resolve itself, but I wouldn't fret too much over it - at least not until after the dust settles.

Hang in there.
New Yes the air bag kept the injuries down
I did also wear a seat belt. Some people in the other car did not wear a seat belt, I am told, and one of them broke a foot or ankle. Other than that, just minor damages.

My head went through the driver's front door window, and the seat belt tried to hold and wrapped tightly against my neck. They thought I might have had wiplash because of that. The driver's front door window was shattered, and my glasses kept sharp shards of glass out of my eyes, and the second hit knocked my glasses off my face and into the street. I wasn't throwing up, so they don't think I had a concussion. Some people here call me thick-headed, and I guess the fact my head went through a window and suffered no injuries is proof of that. :)

I got pictures, took some with a crappy digital camera with poor resolution, and a 35MM and Advantix I haven't had developed yet. The pictures show skid-marks on my side of the road, and the other car must have crossed over the line to hit me. The Police did not record the skid-marks. If I get a chance, I'll publish them to a web page. Right now I am more concerned about getting rest, my Uncle James' Funeral, and my wife's breast biopsy today. Plus I got like 12 chapters to read for college, I can't quit on that either.

New Glad that you're ok,
Bruised, battered, and shaken, but still around.

Condolenses on your uncle.

Good luck/best wishes on biopsy.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail ... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"
New Good.
You seem to be in pretty good shape, all things considered...

New Good planning
From your description of 'the angles' - had you not been wearing that belt, you might well have joined a long obituary column of folks who find belts "too much trouble' .. and who then slide out from the airbag's cushion and on into F=MA demolition.

Enjoy the soreness.. it strongly suggests that you're Still Alive. :-\ufffd
