Anyone know of a diff tool for MS Word docs?
I use 'diff', but considering the file format what I get back is useless. I need something to identify revision history when I've got multiple versions. Anyone ever seen something that does this?

GroupWise Document storage does this automagically.
Don't you wish you had a REAL Groupware solution?
Or is this in reference to mugings last night?
But otherwise, no I have not seen anything silimar.
You could CnP text of each into vim... or other text editor save and then diff them.

Nah, spec documents
We've got one where the "Change log" entry someone made is, "Minor revisions/edits." Well shit, thanks Binkie. Now how about telling me WHAT THE FUCK THEY WERE.

That'd be revision Histopry on the SAME document....
making sure not to purge the revision history.

Nope
Word XP: Tools-COmpare and Merge Documents...
Open old revision, merge new one into it - it will highlight changes.

Tried that
It shows the changes, but it's easy to miss them.
I found a side-by-side tool for it, but the free download doesn't tell you anywhere what it will eventually cost. Looks like something written in spare time between classes, too.

How is it easy to miss changes?
Somewhere in the bowels of reviewer toolbar there is Reviewing Pane option that brings all the changes in one list below the text.

Didn't know about the reviewer toolbar
I almost never use Word. Or at least I didn't until recently.
