Brian <forgot last name> the host of most CSPAN broadcasts said that he didn't think anyone cared anymore since 9/11. He said that while he "wished Tubin well" he did not think the book would "sell very well. Americans have largely gotten over it. There are still some hardline partisans, ... Democrats that think this is still very important" but that the majority have "moved on".
It's ironic, imNSho, that during this flag buying/waving/toting phase of our evolution we hold the ideals upon which this country has existed since at least Andy Jackson's reign in such little regard. If people like Brian and Beep here are correct, if most Americans have "gotten over it and moved on", then I'm curious about why so many Americans are buying US flags? If the "move on" crowd is correct, exactly what are we feeling "patriotic" about? Can't be the last election - the majority no longer think "democracy" is worth worrying too much over. Can't be the ATA - the Bill of Rights doesn't seem to be as important as "a little security". What do have left to be proud about? McDonald's?
