Yes the US did help Afghanistan against Russia back in the Reagan years. I wonder if we are creating monsters when we help out other countries? All the more reason to drop support, beef up our borders, and only help out our country and a few countries that are close to us, insteed of playing "Cop" with all the countries in the world.
