Someone asked for these before, and I just now found them in one of my searches.

New MySQL is a good alternative to M$Access
But I'm more interested to know if anyone's playing with [link|http://www.postgresql.org/news/216.html|PostgreSQL 8.0 Beta], a higher end RDBMS that supports foreign keys, triggers, and stored procs. Got it installed on my lowly xp box fairly easily, but need to punish it a bit more.
New I'm too lazy to look.
Does MySql support transactions yet?
bcnu,
Mikem

If you can read this, you are not the President.
New Yes
And it has multiple back-ends. If you are paranoid, use the BerkeleyDB backend to get a very mature implementation of transactions.

New I am hoping to help...
Scott run Tomcat5 and Postgresql 7.latest... or maybe v8...

What say you scott?

After I finish the Docs, and a few odds and ends... I'll be able to pony up for the time to take T5, A2 and maybe PG8 to task.

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]
Here is an example: [link|http://www.greymagic.com/security/advisories/gm001-ie/|Executing arbitrary commands without Active Scripting or ActiveX when using Windows]
New Prolly not PG8.
Remember, anything you put up for the test platform, I have to install locally too. :-)

PG8 is only beta. I don't run beta for a database.
