Star Trek - New Voyages

I downloaded & watched [link|http://www.5yearmission.com/STNV_WEB_files/episode.htm|"Come What May"] last night. It's supposed to be episode 1 of season 4 of the original Star Trek series. New actors take the place of Kirk and the crew. I saw this interesting bit on their site

Several months ago, we got a call from Eugene Roddenberry, son of "Star Trek" Creator Gene Roddenberry. In the weeks that have followed, I've gotten to know "Rod" and am always amazed at his insight, whether it be about the script or Star Trek in general...

Rod said to us that he felt New Voyages was a wonderful representation of his father's vision for Trek. Because of that, he and the Roddenberry family have decided to give New Voyages their support.

The special effects were very well done. Story was interesting. Acting was, well, like the original series :-)

Episode 2, "In Harm's Way" is scheduled for release in August.

If you decide to check this out, make sure you watch the Teaser before Act 1. The Teaser is the opening scene followed by the opening credits.

I had to use the BitTorrent "mirror". I think the other mirrors were slashdotted. I had not used BitTorrent before this - very slick, and fast.

(`apt-get install w32codecs`) I watched the trailer -- VERY well done.
