Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Thanx, Kat -
Will peruse at leisure - and Watch For '05

Hmmm - how's the popularity of Who in Oz? yeah hard to gauge compared-to-What? I mean - is it fringe loonies like Usn's or -- reglar Roo-chasin, Gator-rasslin billabong-totin Folks?

PS How's life for the divine Jenny Agutter, these days?
Kinda thought she'd have made a decent 'companion' for a Doctor; a bit late for that now, but - -

New Who in .au
Yep, primarily fringe loonies, I think :)

It was very popular here in its hey-day (mid to late 70s, early 80s), and there are still regular nods to it in the (non fringe loony) press - ie describing a spacious car as 'Tardis-like', things like that. So it's very much been absorbed into the nation's collective consciousness :)

A little while ago our ABC started screening at again, right from the very beginning. And, somewhat surprisingly, in a 6:00pm timeslot. So I'd think a lot of people are probably reacquainting themselves with it.

They're about half way through the Jon Pertwee stories now. Hmm... [link|http://abc.net.au/tv/guide/netw/200406/programs/ZY7254A004_23.htm|yep].

NO idea on what Jenny Agutter's up to these days - I really should invite her over for tea :) I'd know if she'd been on TV lately, if I ever bothered to watch much TV. So to murder a phrase, I suppose your Google is as good as mine... :)
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Ahh.. one w/ The Master!___Roger Delgado {envy}
New The Daemons is regarded by some as the best Who story ever.
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Inferno
or The Keeper Of Traken.

New Watched that just on the weekend,
with a bunch of fellow freaks :) And yeah, some thirty-four years on, it's still a *great* story. Real gen-u-ine tension, and it's almost completely devoid of corridors...

Of course, I had to serve the assembled crowd green jelly as a part of the evening's dessert :) (and Mars Bars, coz we watched Ambassadors of Death as well...)

As for my fave story - probably Logopolis. It's just that from the opening minute it has this brilliant sense of doom and foreboding that pervades it through to the very end. Erm, Now excuse me whilst I dress up in all black and go listen to my Cure records, or something :)
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Second favourite story arc - the E-Space trilogy.
Especially State Of Decay.

New Even though Adric was introduced at that time? :)
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Adric was good!
Well, at least not as annoying as we all like to pretend he was :)

Most annoying companion? My vote goes to Peri.

New Aw, I liked Peri.
And the cute way her accent sometimes just wouldn't hold :) Dunno who I'd rate most annoying... I could sit here and ponder it a while longer but I'd probably miss my train...

New I liked Vengeance On Varos
Despite it not being my favorite Doctor, it was awesome.

Caves Of Androzani was my second favorite.

"At last, a moment's peace!"
New The question of the best Doctor...
...is beyond question.

You may have a favourite, but the best Doctor was Tom Baker; he (and maybe Patrick Troughton) had the best mix of gravitas and mischief that is required.

Paul McGann and Peter Davison fall into the "too miserable" camp; Jon Pertwee, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy are in the "too silly" corner. William Hartnell I don't tend to judge, because I've only seen a couple of his stories.

The best story-arc, I think, was the Key To Time. It's no coincidence that this happened on Tom Baker's watch.

This is nothing compared to Grand Theft Auto III, because you can't steal a taxi cab, pick up somebody, then drive into the ocean with him.
