The wee one pulled himself up to stand today.
All he needs now is the "lying down to sitting" move, a bit more balance, and that's the end of the relatively immobile child honeymoon. :-P

Aidan means "fiery one"
Which is absolutely dead-on.
This is the first time I've had time to give him a bath in a week. And my wife didn't warn me.
It was a nuclear cataclysm. Squirmy, growling, rolling, lunging... he deliberately created no fewer than 4 tsunamis to coerce me into sitting him up. Then when he was up, the lunging, cackling, and water flinging began. After the bath, more squirming, rolling, and lunging while I was trying to get him dressed, interspersed with fits of screaming because he didn't like the towel on his head.
I felt emotionally scarred after this bath.
My first son was mild-mannered. No warning for this one. Sheesh.

Nope.
My first is the wild one; second is MUCH more subdued.

But it is such a delight to see ...
Kids who have just learned to walk are a fascination. Especially when they exhibit the euphoria of realising what they have achieved and can do.
The upside outweighs the downside (increased anxiety of monitoring the adventurer & protecting them from the many potential hazards).
Savour the phase well :-)

Oh, I know.
With this one, though, the downsides are a lot closer to the upsides than with the first one. ;-)
Good thing we don't have a lot of knickknacks in the house. The cables behind the entertainment center are probably going to be an endless source of exploration for him though...
