over there they have to respect their elders and superiors, or else they get into big trouble. My sister-in-law over there just became a teacher, and decorated the school room, and an elder teacher said it was too flashy and she needed to tone it down, so she took everything down to not upset her elder. Apparently she needed to ask permission before putting that stuff up. Just the way their culture is over there. It has nothing to do with sexual orientation.

Also in Thailand, women cannot collect alamony or child support after a divorce and are lucky if their ex-husband gives them anything at all.

They are also not as free as US Citizens are, they are forced to vote and if they do not vote, they are dragged into jail.

Is it any wonder my wife and her brother wanted to move to the USA as soon as they turned 18? They were lucky to be born in the USA before their mother moved back to Thailand when they were toddlers.
