New if you are using h323 for voice protocol
to be at home you cannot go thru a natted proxy server or firewall or you will get a 1 way voice path. H323 doesnt have that capability yet. Just curious what brand of ipphone solution are you using?
thanx,
bill
can I have my ones and zeros back?
New Cisco setup
I'm not sure what version the Call Manager is. The phones are:

[link|http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/tlhw/prodlit/7960_ds.htm|IP Phone 7960] - Office

The phones support Cisco CallManager technology, H.323, or Session Initiated Protocol (SIP). Not sure which protocol we're using, but I suspect it's the Cisco CallManager as that's what the box is called that the consultants are setting up.

New VPN will work
I talked with the guy setting up the system and he said that the phones will work using VPN; however, it is not officially supported because there is no guarantee of service quality when coming over the internet.
