New Good idea or bad idea?
From the [link|http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/04/16/bluetooth_tagging/|The Register]
Danes tag kids with Bluetooth
...
Parents can buy a armlet for their child for DKK 20 (about $3). Should a child wander off, they merely have to send a SMS requesting information on the particular tag. Shortly thereafter they receive a message back specifying the location of the child's nearest Bluetooth receiver. The access points can pinpoint the location down to 20 metres.

...

"Good, get get an armlet for little Suzie and let her run around without me. All I have to do is page her when I'm ready." to "What do you mean she's not found?"

May make some parents less vigilant when out with their children.
New Fantastic idea.
Less controlling than a leash, which I swore I'd never use until my just-turned-2-year-old decided to play "daddy chase me" at an airport...more controlling than just giving the kid a phone so you can call them and ask them where they are.
FAQ! We're scrod!
New I used to think that too.
But now I'm not so sure. My wife reminds me that I once advocated putting a chip under the scalp (less likely to be removed). Still, and perhaps especially since the DHS has been established, I'm not all too sure that having even our little ones with devices on them that can tell anyone where you are is a good idea.
New You should post more often.
Your .sig always makes me laugh.

Oh, and I enjoy your comments too. :-)

Cheers,
Scott.
