New Win2k + SP4, Moz.
All right, I'll try it...

I installed [link|http://www.jcraft.com/jorbis/|JOrbis], which isn't the most intuitive thing going, but it works.

I still feel fine. All I hear is a very low hum and a slight pop when it ends and the "startup2.ogg" file (from the player) starts to play. My Labtec 3 piece speakers (with their 4" "subwoofer"!) aren't audiphile quality but are probably better than average.

Maybe my head will explode later in the day. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,
Scott.
New I'd recommend WinAmp 2.
Least faffy thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Please advise as to precursor sensations if head explodes.

New Hmm. Typical Windows run-around in progress.
I downloaded WinAmp 5 Lite. It installed fine. Of course, it doesn't play .ogg files out of the box even though you'd get that impression from watching their silly movies....

Tried to download the Ogg Vorbis decoder for WinAmp from [link|http://ftp.winamp.com/customize/component/2001/5/12/p/nullsoft_vorbis_decoder.exe|here]. Got a 503. Try to download the Ogg plugin from [link|http://www.angrycoffee.com/tutorials/vorbis/mm/oggwinamp.zip|here]. Success, after restarting WinAmp. At least it shows up as being installed.

However, nothing happens when I hit Play - no progress indicator motion, no time remaining, etc.

I think my head will have to explode later. Sorry. :-/

[Edit: tense issues fixed.]

Cheers,
Scott.
