New Well I have compared this place to a bar before
Picture a bar or social club where arguments are dazzling, dull, furious over frivolities, mentoring and occational verbal violence breaks out. I think in the case over in the political column that any proof would be burdensome indeed. If someone presupposes against your position you will prove until oblivion, nothing will shake them. So write the proofs knowing that others than your intended target are reading them and digesting. You may get posted against it. If getting this stuff is too much of a burden then it isnt fun. Time to let it dry up and move on.
thanx,

New Let it dry up and move on?
I will, eventually. But I can't just yet. It would look like an abdication.

I might just confine myself to posting evidence as I find the online versions, and leave the arguing to others. When it reaches the point where no reasonable person could disagree, I'll let the unreasonable embarrass themselves.

Work's gotten busy, so I might have to leave this fallow for a week.
