New Definitely the way to go for Pythonistas
Seems like the last time I looked at ReportLab that it had a more restrictive license. Either I misremembered or they've subsequently opened it up, because it has a bsd type of license now.

Unfortunately, my app is not using Python. I used Python simply because it is easier to communicate in. Still helps to understand a minimal pdf document, but for those who are serious about pdf documents, ReportLab has been highly recommended by a number of folks.
